Materials checklist

  • Pots or garden bed
  • Potting mix
  • Herb seedlings (basil, parsley, mint)
  • Watering cans
  • Plant labels
  • Care roster chart

Step by step

  1. Explore seedlings and smell the leaves.
  2. Children fill pots and plant seedlings.
  3. Name each plant and make labels.
  4. Water gently and choose a sunny spot.
  5. Build a care roster together.

  • • Notice who sticks to the roster — extend with a growth-measuring chart.
  • • When herbs are ready, use them in a simple snack.
